As a part of my Design Experience Environments (DEE) semester I was assigned to create an application for teenagers between 10 and 15 years old to stimulate reading books. I teamed up with seven other students and created the Magical library.
The magical library is not an ordinary library. It's a library in VR that has different rooms that each have their own theme. These themes are based on book-genres. To show our concept in VR we developed the "fantasy" room. In this room you can meet Harry potter and do a task for him.
The magical library is divided into two parts. The first part has a story about a murder mystery you have to solve by doing tasks for characters in the library. The second part is where you get extra options for customization and explore the library freely.
Gameplay prototype (Dutch)
I mainly worked on putting the game together using the Unity game engine. This consisted of placing the assets, adding the shaders and playtesting the playercontroller using a Virtual Reality (VR) headset.
